Women, like this happy Lady from Chimbele, are looking forward to get Peko Pe Stoves for they daily cooking.
The Peko Pe is a multi fuel combustion system and can be used with multiple forms of DRY biomass, such as finger-size pieces of wood, husks, grass, cow dung and more. As long as the fuel material is dry the stove gives a good result. The fuel can burn without smoke and reach a temperature of 600 to 700 degrees celsius.
Charcoal burners and dealers can easily join in and grow energy forest. These can be many kinds of fast growing woody plants, which then will be harvested all year around, dried and processed and sold instead of charcoal.
The stove is meant to be build by the tinkers who are now build charcoal braziers. The Peko Pe is a simple design and has been improved by Mr Wendelbo from Norway.
This stove is an alternative to the charcoal brazier and can help the forests to recover from the ongoing cutting of trees for charcoal. The demand for firewood is ever increasing and the availability is dramatically going down.
If you like to help with the programme please contact us. You might think; what can I do? Well, we need tools and sheetmetal for the villagers, who can produce the Peko Pe stove. It will give them an income and it will help the environment. Trees can recover. The air will be healthier, there will be less smoke because there is less charcoal burning. The charcoal person will possibly be healthier as he doesn't need to produce so much charcoal anymore.
