I recently came across a book titled Photo Idea Index (link on Amazon) and I thought it was a great book for photographic inspiration. It helps you come up with new and interesting ways to think about photography as well as help you decide what actually makes up a good photograph.

Does anyone else have any good books on photography to recommend? I'd love to hear about them.

i want to recommend a photo book which is published by phaidon ltd. and it is called:
the photo book
its a nice little brick of a book providing a good cross-section of 500 specimen of the greatest achievements in photographic art history (mid nineteenth century to today).
i take it with me wherever i teach (photography) and i use the pictures to inspire my students when i ask them to write essays on world famous photographs...
