Guinataang Tahong, Kalabasa at Malunggay
(Mussels, squash and moringa braised in coconut milk) won the grand prize at the 2006 cooking contest for Sagip-Bata volunteer mothers. This dish was chosen for its taste, affordability, presentation and nutrition. Moringa leaves are very common in the Philippines. They are a very good source of iron, calcium, phosphorous and vitamins A, B and C.
